EP18 - Ferris Bueller
Tuesday Jul 03, 2018
Tuesday Jul 03, 2018
It’s yet another installment of “Friends before Friends!” This week we unearth the TV spinoff “Ferris Bueller," starring a pre-Rachel Jennifer Aniston. It's kind of like if everything you love about Ferris Bueller's Day Off got flushed down a toilet, lit on fire, and smashed into pieces! It's that good! We spend an absurd amount of time avoiding talking about this one, with topics ranging from Mike's infatuation with there being a Jumaji TV show, to audience thoughts on Jennifer Aniston vs a tuna sandwich, heaping praise for Lisa Kudrow despite having nothing to do with this show, pondering the practicallity of xrays for tonsils, and trying to remember the words to Fankie Goes to Hollywood's RELAX. "This is REAL. This is TV." But seriously, this show freaking sucks.
Cut the Shit: Morgan - The Last Laugh (Netflix)
Mike - The Comeback (HBO)

EP17 - Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars
Tuesday Jun 26, 2018
Tuesday Jun 26, 2018
It's Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare!! This week we finally cover the topic everyone has been clamoring for: forgotten, short-lived, 90s cartoons inspired by the boom of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!! It's like Star Wars but with bunnies, cats, toads, and baboons! Plus robots, dimensional travel, and busty animated kitties! Plus Josh joins us to educate Morgan on the NES classic Battletoads (although it remains unclear exactly what that game was about), we get into some deep fan theories on why Bucky might be green, and ponder Neil Degrasse Tyson's thoughts on the accuracy of the show. It's action packed, sexy as heck, and has some totally bitchin' tunes!!
Cut the Shit:
Morgan - Father John Misty - God’s Favorite Customer and Brandi Carlisle - By the Way, I Forgive You
Josh - James Acaster - Repertoire and Amy Shark - Love Monster
Mike - Event Horizon (1997)

EP16 - Free Spirit
Tuesday Jun 19, 2018
Tuesday Jun 19, 2018
Quit Your Witchin'!! This week we're cast under the spell of the 80s family sitcom Free Spirit! It's the second most famous all-ages witch comedy to air on TGIF. Folks, we were tired, and we were drinking, and recorded it merely hours before it needed to be uploaded. It may be incoherent, and we may be insufferable, but one thing is for sure: it meets the minimum requirements to be considered a podcast. It may not be pretty, but we did it get it posted under the wire. We also find time to discuss the Disney Channel film Under Wraps, the curse of the Scottish Play (aka MACBETH, if you didn't know), surpise train conventions, and the shocking inappropriateness of Mary Poppins. You know the old saying, "See you on the bowling court!"
Cut the Shit: Morgan - Hereditary (2018) Mike - The Craft (1996)
Shoutouts to Movies with the Mrs. and So I Married a Movie Geek

EP15 - Thunder in Paradise
Tuesday Jun 12, 2018
Tuesday Jun 12, 2018
Welcome to paradise, BROTHER! Eden and Carli of the “Oh Shit That’s Scary” podcast join us to talk about the over-the-top, beyond-the-mat, no-holds-barred aquatic action series, Thunder in Paradise! Starring wrestling mega-star, the Suburban Commando himself, (and notably shitty person) Terry “The Hulkster” Hogan. Thanks to the Launching the Pilot podcast for this enjoyably absurd recommend! In addition to Hulk’s nips and singing voice, we find time to discuss sick fan-boat donuts, funeral requests & death wishes, the awesomeness of Maximum Overdrive, and, of course boats, boats, boats!! Gotta love that graphite!
Cut the Shit: Eden: Grave Girls Podcast, Morgan: No Reservations (Laos)/I Never Saw That, Carli: Nurse Jackie, Mike: WWE NXT TakeOver: Respect 2015 - Sasha Banks vs Bayley

EP14 - Invasion
Tuesday Jun 05, 2018
Tuesday Jun 05, 2018
After last weeks epic wrestling episode, we decided to keep things small for this ep (plus it was stupid hot and we were a little exhausted so please excuse our relatively mellow demeanor) as we slow things down a bit with a cerebral sci-fi thriller that had fans crying out for more. It's ABC's Invasion from 2005! It's often cited as a cancelled-too-soon classic, but will it invade our hearts or get under our skin? Plus we talk about the lengend of duendes, Mike sneakily watching two seasons of The Americans WITHOUT MORGAN, and the necessity of storm beers.
Cut the Shit: Morgan - Intruder (1989), Mike - Dark Skies (2013)

EP13 - WWE Wrestling
Tuesday May 29, 2018
Tuesday May 29, 2018
Mike and Morgan are WWE virgins! Not to worry, wrestling fanatics Tiffany and Josh are here to show them the error of their ways. It's a super-sized episode that has been dubbed the Wrestlemania of Podcasting! (by us, anyway) We watch a tag team match, four wrestler entrances, a classic slam battle, and close the night with the headlining showdown between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair. Can Tiff's unbridled enthusiasm and Josh's lifelong devotion make WWE-ners out of your hosts?? Is Wrestling a "TV Show??" (YES) Will this be the first podcast to perform a body slam on air?(NO) Listen to find out! WOOO!!! We also give a shout out to one of our biggest fans (Hey Sky!) and one of our favorite podcasts, Movies with the Mrs!!

EP12 - Eerie, Indiana
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Tuesday May 22, 2018
This week we watched the cult classic, kid-friendly creeper, Eerie, Indiana. Both of us remember liking it when we were young... but not much else. Does it cast us under it's nostalgic spell or is it all hocus pocus? We also talk about our favorite episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark? and discuss how awesome the Goosebumps covers were. From mad scientists, to mummies, to mild-mannered madwomen, this episode has it all! Plus we give out shout out to one of our favorite podcasts, I Never Saw That.

EP11 - Top of the Heap
Tuesday May 15, 2018
Tuesday May 15, 2018
We’re back with the third installment of “Friends Before Friends.” This time we watched Matt LeBlanc’s short-lived Married… with Children spinoff, Top of the Heap. LeBlanc plays a young, handsome, dimwitted Italian-American man named Joey… er… I mean “Vinnie.” Basically it’s the same low-brow shenanigans as MWC but with more dancing! Is it a heap of smelly garbage, or cream of the crap? Josh makes his triumphant return to the show and we talk celebrity encounters, the sexual politics of Peg Bundy, and get remarkably uncomfortable about the character Moana, played by teenaged Joey Lauren Adams. Also stay tuned at the end as we have a long list of corrections from this episode!
Cut the Shit: Last Week Tonight, Crashing, Aparna Nancherla (The Standups on Netflix)

EP10 - Good Reception: Lost
Tuesday May 08, 2018
Tuesday May 08, 2018
We flip the script this week and cover a critically raved and monster hit TV show with our first installment of "Good Reception?" That's right, Mike is forcing Morgan to watch the show she's been too cool for for over 14 years, but today there's nowhere to run! It's like she's stranded on a tropical island with only one show to watch, and it's 2004's Lost! Mike gushes about his love for the show and Morgan gives her reservations and predictions. We omit the recap this time and just chat about our thoughts on the 2 part pilot episode. We only discuss the pilot, so no spoilers for the rest of the series if that's a concern. Also, why the hell haven't you watched Lost?? It's great!!

EP9 - Cop Rock
Tuesday May 01, 2018
Tuesday May 01, 2018
You have the right to remain... musical! This week we watch the fascinating failure Cop Rock, in our most requested episode yet! Our good friend and musical enthusiast Chevy joins for a lively discussion of a show that is both dated and surprisingly timely. Prepare yourself for singing, dancing, cuffs, guns, sex, violence, cops, and of course, rocks.
